Since the Modi's government has come to power since 23rd May, 2019, there looks a kind of a conscious and determined effort of Hinduisation of Indian politics by RSS which many people called it RSS's hidden agenda for the coming 2024's election. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which represents the Sangh Parivar in national politics, has recently formed 3rd governments in India, most recently being in power from May 2014 under the leadership of Prime minister Narendra Modi, reelected in 2019.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is a Hindu umbrella group which is the ideological inspiration for PM Modi's rightwing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). "RSS, which presents itself as a cultural organization, advocates a Hindu nationalistic agenda under the banner of "Hindutva" or "Hinduness."
Founded in 1925, the RSS today has more than 6 million active members. Most of the BJP's leaders, including Modi, have a long history as members of the volunteer movement. The group threw its weight behind Modi ahead of his crushing 2014 election's victory over Congress. But in 2019, they remained dormant and, the head of RSS Sh. Mohan Bhagwat uttered not a single word during three months span of the campaigning carried out by Mr. Modi from March till 23rd May, 2019-------which is very significant in India's politics. Even Mr. Modi demanded votes on his name alone neither in the name of BJP nor RSS..
"The '5G' like Ganga, Geeta, Gau (cow), Gaon (Village) Gobar(Cow Dung) and the Hindu god like 'Ram' are main and superficial elements of their script, meant to be raised with an monotonous undertone of religion to create a mono-cultural Hindu identity and draws line between Hindu and Muslim to unite Hindu in whole of India."
For RSS, their desire is that most importantly BJP needs to remain in power and to remain in power BJP needs to decide how to do that. I am not the spokesperson for RSS or the BJP, but my observation is that the RSS would like BJP to be a 'Saffron Congress'—the all India party to replace the Congress. Whatever compromise BJP wants to do, they would let them do.
Once BJP remains in power for three consecutive elections, only then RSS will go for its ideological programme. Currently, they have an ideological programme in education. They are building an all India network, a kind of a pressure group. But since Modi has come to power again in 2019, first. RSS’ target year will be 2024.
BJP is political wing of the RSS to convert Hinduisation of Indian politics's agenda of RSS. Many opposition leaders do not draw any line between them because when BJP comes to power only RSS trained men capture power in centre and states where ever, the BJP is in power. Mr. Modi, Amit Shah, both are RSS trained men at their head office, Nagpur. Most of the RSS trained men called 'Pracharak', either they become ministers, governors or 'junior prachark become personal assistant(PA) of minister' to have full control on the government may be in center or states. They are well tasting power at both places, yet they usually and falsely claim that we have no role to play with politicas and we are born for social activities.
To strengthen the base of the BJP amongst the 'tribal and poorest among poor', the RSS has seriously got involved in tribal areas too through Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram. Second important thing is their 'Samajik Samarasta Manch.' Third most important thing, is the Sewa project. They used to have people on volunteering basis in ’87, and in ’89 they started officially with 5,000 people and in ’99 they reached 50,000, and now their unregistered membership have touched more than 6 millions due to BJP in power.
"RSS doesn’t have any formal membership, hence its very difficult to give exact number of people associated with RSS.
Recently, recently Former President Pranab Mukherjee visited the RSS's head quarter and addressed RSS event at Nagpur, while top corporate, Mr. Ratan Tata had earlier on December 29, 2016, paid a surprise visit to the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on his 79th birthday. The father of the nation and Mahatma Gandhi too paid a voluntary visit to the Wardha RSS camp on 25 December 1934. He also held a lengthy conversation with the RSS".
Today the Sewa project of RSS has wide tentacle and spread over more than 172,000 NGOs in India. And it is a diversified project. The Sewa project has made them accept the diversification of Hindu society. They realise that you can’t put them in one school of thought, you cannot put them into one ideological straitjacket. You have to understand the diversity, work with them, and respect them. As they have worked with people in Northeast and tribal people.
“The RSS has recognised the desire and ambition of the OBCs and tribal people and helping them get what is called upward social mobility. Their importance is accepted by a banker or say, even Kshatriya class. So this is psychological and sociological ‘upwardness’. And the third thing is the change in the background of the pracharaks.”
The biggest problem is that, so far, RSS never cared about public perception. Only 2000 onwards they started having a spokesperson. They have realised that it’s a baggage of 70 years and it will take a longer time. Do you know there are three RSS Muslim pracharaks? I am not defending them but they think it is a historical baggage. It is just like people say about RSS that it is anti-modern. But they say we appreciate modernity, but not westernisation.
"The building of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya does not look on top of the agenda" while getting Delhi darbar is their top priority under Modi's government. because they hope that Supreme Court will give the decision mostly on line of the Allahabad High Court’s decision." Legally, the last judgement says that the place belongs to Hindus. But if the SC puts the ball, which is a possibility, back on the government side saying it’s not our job to decide, then RSS will come in picture. In a few months from now NDA is likely to have a majority in the Rajya Sabha. Then, it will be easy for BJP to introduce the bill and pass it in both Houses. BJP will say, “There is public pressure, but till day RSS cadres never marched towards Ram Temple after pulling down disputed Masque's structure on 6th December, 1992 situated at Ayodhya in Uttar Pardesh in India...........'There is a rough scholarly consensus that in 1528, following the Mughal conquest of the region, a mosque was built at the site by the Mughal general Mir Baqi, and named the "Babri Masjid" after the Mughal emperor Babur.'
However, the Sangh's Parivar is serious about the issue because once the Ram temple issue is solved then automatically you solve “the problem” of Kashi and Mathura because of Aurangzeb’s decree and many other evidences. Kashi and Mathura will require only constitutional amendment. My feeling is that Ram temple issue is a Brahmastra because the RSS was instrumental in pulling down the illegal structure of the Masjid built by Babar. In my opinion, RSS won’t use it. Mostly the opponent will use the Ram temple issue and will be trapped in their net because RSS never dares to remove the Muslim's community reading 'Namaz' on the many roads, railway stations which they took stand after putting pressure on Muslim's community but they failed to remove them..............even in BJP ruled states with the help of administration too.
